Q: What is the eligibility criteria and selection process for admission to MBA program at Amrita School of Business?

A: To be eligible for admission to MBA program at Amrita School of Business, The applicant must fulfil the following criteria:

1. They must have a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent in Class 12
2. A valid test score of the nationally accepted management qualifying exam is mandatory. It includes CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, GMAT and GRE
3. Candidates applying for MBA-MS at Bengaluru need to have a minimum IBT-TOEFL score of 79 or IELTS score of 6.5 with individual category score of 6 or PTE score of 55 with individual category score of 50
4. Prior working experience is given more weightage

The eligible candidates must fill up the application form online by paying a nominal fee of Rs 1,000. The candidates are shortlisted for Personal Interview round on their academic and test score.

Candidates getting through with the Personal Interview round are offered admission at Amrita School of Business.

Q: What are the various specialisations offered to students?

A: The School offers the benefit of dual specialisation to students. Students undergo all the general management subjects in the first two trimesters. In the third trimester, they get the opportunity to decide the specialisation they wish to pursue ahead. The students can choose amongst specialisations below:

• Marketing
• Business Analytics
• Finance
• Operations
• Human Resources

Q: What is the total cost of the two-year MBA program?

A: The total cost of the two-year MBA program is Rs 10.6 lakh. It also includes an additional cost of approximate Rs 3 lakh for mandatory three to four weeks study trip to University of Buffalo, New York as part requirement for the MS Degree. This additional cost of Rs 3 lakh is subject to currency exchange rates. The fee for other campuses such as Amritapuri, Coimbatore and Kochi varies.

Q: Is this is a residential programme? If yes, what is the hostel fee?

A: The two year MBA program is a residential programme offering on-campus accommodation benefits for outstation students. The cost of two years of hostel facility is Rs 1.9 lakh which includes hostel mess also. We ensure a home away from home to students by ensuring a completely hygienic environment.

Q: What initiatives School has taken to drive better placements for students?

A: To help students secure quality placements, we have a dedicated cell, namely Centre for Corporate and Industry Relations that works round the year to strengthen the corporate relationships.

Also, we have a global alumni network of professionals working at senior positions in reputed companies across the globe who also bring internship opportunities and mentor students for a bright career ahead. The faculty also plays an important role in guiding students throughout the curriculum.

Q: Can you share some insights on placement?

A: Amrita School of Business is known for its quality placements. We have a track record of 100 per cent placements for MBA students. In the last placement season, we witnessed active participation of over 122 corporates. The highest package offered to the student was Rs 28.4 lakh per annum with an average of Rs 5.73 lakh per annum offered to other students. Over 260 eligible candidates were placed.

And, over 90 companies visited campus to offer a summer internship programme to students. The highest stipend we witnessed was of Rs 40,000.

Q: Amrita School of Business is AACSB accredited. What is the significance of that?

A:  AACSB accreditation process benchmarks our curriculum with the best of the B-Schools in the world and Assurance of Learning (AOL) ensures the course objectives are met and easy transfer of credits if you wish to do higher studies abroad.
