According to Ranjit Calangutkar, T.I.M.E. Mumbai, “As far as the exam is concerned, all the slots the paper had the same level of difficulty. The students taking the exam on Sunday 13th March had an advantage as they knew how the paper would turn out to be. However one positive aspect of having similar difficulty levels is that less of normalisation would be required , this would lead to fewer problems , like the ones faced by the students last year.”

“Across all slots, the logical ability section had no surprises apart from the fact the analytical puzzles asked were tough. Overall this section can be said to be of moderate difficulty level. The abstract reasoning section was unusually easy having simple questions unlike the usual MBA CET trend. Verbal ability section was the saviour and students should have made the most of it. It was one of the easiest section apart from abstract reasoning. The questions in the quantitative ability section were tricky and some were calculation intensive but questions from no new areas were asked apart from the ones generally asked in QA section of the MBA CET exam,” he further added.

Overall MAH CET 2016 analysis:

“Overall the paper across all slots, was tougher than the usual CET paper every year. The cut offs for top colleges will be relatively lower this year. A perfect strategy would have been to make the most of verbal and abstract reasoning section and spend time only on the selected questions in the logical ability and quantitative aptitude section. A score of 110+ will be suffice to get into the top five colleges, and cut-offs for JBIMS would approximately be around 135-140 as per my judgment,”  said Calangutkar.
