MDI Gurgaon PGPM 2014-2016 Placement: Highest CTC offered Rs 32.1 lakh
Management Development Intitute (MDI), Gurgaon’s final placement process of 2014-2016 brought an unprecedented cheer for the students with offers surpassing last year’s record.
The average CTC across the three courses saw a 13% increase over the previous year with the highest domestic CTC offered increasing by a remarkable 27.5% to Rs 32.1 LPA.
In a report published by MDI, a total of 333 students participated in the placement process which was completed in 3.5 days. 237 students from the flagship PGPM course, 61 students from the PGP-HRM course, and 35 from the PGP-IM course were hired by a range of renowned business houses.
This year, MDI saw a substantial increase of 35% in participation by companies in the placement program. The program saw an overwhelming response from industries like, Consulting, General Management, Finance, Strategy, Sales and Marketing, Operations, and Information Management. Several reputed startups also showed interest in hiring MDI graduates.
General Management and Strategy: The General Management and Strategy stream saw a significant rise in the number of companies participating in the placement program. Deloitte U.S. India and KPMG were major recruiters in strategy consulting domain, making a total of 23 offers. Hinduja Group recruited for the first time for its prestigious Hinduja Leadership Program.
Finance: Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Langham Capital, and Nomura were the prominent recruiters that offered investment banking profiles with majority students securing pre-placement Offers. Bharti Axa and General Motors were first time recruiters.
Sales and Marketing: In Sales and Marketing, saw a range of companies from diverse sectors flocking the campus to recruit for their sales and marketing function. Major marketing firm Dabu, offered an international role to a student. This year, Paytm, Oxigen, Tata Sky, Shopclues, and Welspun were the new recruiters in the section.
Human Resource: More than 35% of the students in Human Resources Management received pre-placement Offers. Aditya Birla Group, Cipla, and Reliance Industries Limited recruited more than 15 students. Firms like Aon Hewitt, EY, and Mercer also recruited for HR consulting roles. 35% of the students secured offers of more than Rs 20 lakh per annum with the highest CTC offered being Rs 30 lakh per annum.
Operations/IT and Others: Along with regular recruiters like, Adobe, Google, Sprinklr, McKinsey Digital Labs, and The Bain Capability Center, Hexaware Technologies and Ramco Systems recruited for the first time for IT leadership profiles. E-commerce giants such as eBay, Snapdeal, and Shopclues among others, offered analytics roles to the students.
