Mystory@Aadya Tiwari: How I selected my college and course
Being a travel enthusiast, I decided to pursue graduation in Mass Media and Mass Communication. I thought that working in news or film industry would help me satisfy my wanderlust while paying me at the same time. Thus, I targeted to pursue the course from one of the best media institutes at the undergrad level – Indraprastha College for Women, Delhi University.
Following this, I joined a reputed news channel and worked there for almost two years. Even then, my dreams were not satisfied since I was neither travelling whole-heartedly nor earning to my satisfaction so that I could pay for my travel. Thus, I thought of moving out of the media industry and from there began my struggle which ended with my admission at BULMIM. Here is my story about how I selected my college.

I graduated in the field of Mass Media in 2011 after which, I was quite sure that I wanted to earn a job. The area of my graduation study was very practical and I wanted some implementation of my learning, so I joined a reputed news channel. After working there for almost two years, I realised that journalism is not my cup of tea and I took a decision to leave the organisation and the field of media. This impulsive decision of mine cost me two crucial years of my life where I was thoroughly confused about what I wanted to do and which field I wanted to choose. I gave interviews in various non-media organisations and realised that every organisation wanted to recruit an MBA. Being from a media background, I was totally not convinced if MBA is the right thing for me or not. I had studied Business, Finance and Economics in my 12th grade but had forgotten all these concepts years ago. I consulted various people, my cousins and uncles and who not and they all made me realise that MBA is the need of the hour.
My best friend did his MBA from BULMIM; while I was pursuing job, he was studying. From then, I saw him changing from a person who was never interested in studies to someone who was now in love with books. I saw him evolving, motivated, inspired by teachers and I was pretty impressed by his growth. So when I took the decision of doing an MBA I was quite clear that I am not somebody to crack IIM and if it is anything then it has to be BULMIM because I have seen how they were able to evolve my friend into a better individual and also the fee that they were charging was very nominal as compared to other institutes. Therefore, it made it simpler for me to take that crucial decision.
I am proud to say that after joining BULMIM, I am more than satisfied with my decision. The faculty is amazing and always ready to help, the exposure is immense and thus far, the placements are also good. I am really glad that I took the decision of taking admission in BULMIM.
