Mystory@Annu Tomar: How I became a Teacher & why I love my job

Nothing is more important for me than my studies. I am the most educated child in my family and everyone, my family and relatives, are proud of this fact. Everyone is from Science background in my family but I started my career by taking Commerce stream in Class 11.

I always have clear cut goals about my career and nobody interferes in my decisions as everybody knows that my decisions regarding my career are always fruitful. Teaching is my passion. I like teaching so much that I am willing to teach even free of cost that is why I am a member of Quora education society. I also work towards serving the poor by providing them free education. I started my career with a management degree, that is, BBA and then I did MBA and later I completed my PhD in Management. I have five years of teaching experience till now and currently I am working with the top most management institution in Asia that is Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak. I continued my education in Management field because I like this field and also because this is the only way through which you can manage everything and without management there is nothing.

Actually, the aim of my life is to serve the society by providing them better education because education is the means through which we can make India's youth or young blood independent, confident and self-reliant. So, I would like to conclude by saying that nothing is more powerful than education, so wake up and move ahead till the goal is reached.

My Career

Luckily, I never did any mistake in my academic career and this was due to God’s grace and my parents’ blessings. Right from the beginning, I have kept very clear goals. Before taking the first step while starting your career, I suggest that you should close your eyes, sit alone and think for a while about what you want to do in the near future and then go ahead in the same direction and never stop.

I have not made any mistake in my academic career, till now and here, I am not being over-confident but very positive that I will not do any mistake because I know my career plans and I am trying my best to achieve it. I am a person who always maintains my personal and professional life, side by side as this is very important.

During my five years of journey as a teaching, I also worked as a career counsellor during admission time and I am a good counsellor and motivator.

Another thing one needs to pay attention to while career selection is that never ever follow your friends or choose anything just for the sake of it because it is your career and not your friends’. The most important thing to formulate your career plan is your interest and your capability to do it.
