After completing Class 10 with good marks I had to choose between commerce and science. I opted for commerce. Not because I hate science but because I like commerce more. In Higher Secondary, I performed well and managed to complete it with good percentage.

After completing Class 12, I was confused about which course to take up for higher studies. After considering my interest, searching on the internet and seeking advice from my teachers, I decided to do Bachelors in Business Administration as I was planning to do MBA in the long run. BBA was best suited for it. I checked all the colleges in Rajkot and selected RP Bhalodia College for BBA.

Once again, after seeking advice and much deliberation I chose to do MBA after completing BBA. MBA was most suitable for me in both setting up own business or securing a good job. 

How I cracked college admission

For securing admission in good colleges one needs to appear for various entrance exams like CMAT, MAT, CAT, etc. I decided to appear for CMAT as its score is accepted by almost all the colleges across Gujarat and I didn’t want to go outside Gujarat for MBA.

CMAT includes questions from Mathematics, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and English. So to score good marks in this exam, one needs to have a good grip on all these four subjects. To prepare for CMAT one can join a coaching centre, but I chose to prepare by myself. With my CMAT score I was able to get admission in NRIBM, Ahmedabad. I was also looking forward to a call from Amrut Mody School of Management, I didn’t make the cut as my score felt short of the cut-off.

What I gained from my college experience

College life is the best part of one’s life. For me NRIBM, Ahmedabad is a totally different. New place, new people, new environment; everything feel so exciting and interesting. College time will always remain special in everyone’s heart.

In college, I try to attend all the lectures. Talking about subjects, I am interested in Finance, Accountancy and Marketing. Attending these lectures actually helps in increasing knowledge. I like sports as well, so I mostly participate in the sports event that take place in college. I also participate in inter-college sports events.  

Other than sports I also like to take part in different management events organised by different colleges. I believe participating in these activities helps an individual in grooming their personality and bring out hidden skills and talent.

College teaches you many things. It not only teaches you theories from book but also trains you to face the real world. It prepares you to step out in the world and face real life challenges with strength and confidence. Here Professors too helps student to bring best out of them and shaping their personality. My college taught me many such things which I might not have been able to somewhere else.
