I was always weak in studies and after my class 10 result was declared, I was disappointed as I had scored low. I had always dreamt of becoming an Air Force Officer, but due to my less percentage, I had to opt for Commerce. After my 12th I joined BA Hons. (Philosophy) in Nagpur’s reputed St. Francis De Sales College. During my 2nd year of graduation, I was selected in Army as 2nd Lieutenant in 114 Infantry TA JAT Regiment in 2000.

After the completion of my training in Army, the Govt. of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee removed the tag of 2nd Lieutenant and was addressed with Lieutenant post. I was commissioned on 4th May 2001 as Lieutenant and was posted in Laddakh. I was posted thrice in Laddakh, twice at Imphal, Mayanmmar Borderand Tripura, Bangaladesh Border. I had to take a medical voluntary retirement in November 2008 as Major. I had the best years of my life while serving in Indian Army. Back in 2007 completed my MBA & was awarded my PhD in 2013. If given a chance, I would like to join the Indian Army again and would like to serve my motherland.

According to me if our life is running smooth, we must consider that the Almighty has bestowed his blessings on us & if ever we face a situation where we might not be getting results as per our expectation, we should think of that the Almighty has thought something much better than what we might be looking for.

As I told earlier, I was weak in studies, so I think what happened with me in terms of my career was good enough for me. The mistakes that I made was that I never took studies seriously because of which I was not able to fulfill my dreams of becoming an Air Force Officer. But, today I feel that the Almighty has shown me the path & I have moved on. Now, when I look back I feel satisfy with my life as well as my career.

For career selection I would suggest that the last dialogue of 3 idiots movies, "Do what you want to do, become what you want to become, but keep only one choice, and concentrate only on it.”

4th December 2014, I was all broken as I lost my father. I was shattered like anything. Even today, I am working as a Dean but I cannot fully concentrate on my work. In life you lose many things, but you realise what real loss is only when you lose someone whom you consider next to God. My father was a FFPG (Friend, Father, Philosopher, and Guide) and I miss him the most.
