Mystory@Sayali Prakash Wankar: Why I switched from Engineering to Management
I opted for Science in standard XII. Since most of my family members were from Science background, I also preferred opting for the same stream. While pursuing Engineering I discovered my keen interest in Management. I was always a part of committees, events, and hosted many programmes which made me believe further that Management was the right choice for me. Then I searched for top management colleges of India. I took suggestions from many experienced people who suggested top ten colleges to me. After a lot of research, I finalised that 'WeSchool' would be the right choice for me as I could specifically focus on Master of Management Studies.
How I cracked college admission
For admission to the college, one requires a very good score and percentile in CET. Hard work and endless efforts can make you achieve your goals. There are many coaching centers like TIMES that can provide you with quality inputs and outputs. But just depending on coaching is not sufficient.

I gave exams like CMAT, CAT, SNAP, and CET. I was selected for Symbiosis but it was WeSchool that attracted me, and yes now I am into it!
What I gained from my college years
Being very new to Mumbai, it took me lot of time to fit in the environment. Initially, I presented a small act in our fresher’s. As I became familiar with people and surrounding, I started participating in different competitions mainly related to Human Resource as that’s my specialisation. I also started writing articles. Recently, I volunteered for event management of The Great Manager Awards where I got the opportunity to connect with many businessmen – this was an exposure towards the corporate world, and now I am also a part of Shiksha Campus connect.
At college, I am normally busy in completing assignments, attending lectures, and participating in competitions. Subjects of my interest are Perspective Management and Organisation behaviour. These subjects are taught in the most creative manner here.
Practical with real life examples ignite and inspire a person. It enhances your personality and attitude in a right direction.
If given a chance, I would like to be the General Secretary for Managing Council of my batch. New to the city, I learnt to mould in whatever shape life may take or whatever road I need to follow to develop my skills. I learned how to judge people, and got an idea about the diversity of natures that exist. The environment here made me realise that I need to enhance my abilities more as the path to success is still a long way.
