I chose Science as my stream for High School on the basis of my interest in subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Maths. I believe that one should make such decisions depending on one’s area of interest and I followed the same. After this, it is your hard work and dedication that will make you successful.

I chose Electronics and Communications Engineering to be my stream for graduation mainly on the basis of merit cutoff and secondly on the basis of the college I opted for. Due to stiff competition, my interests took a backseat which in turn deteriorated my performance during my graduation. I had to work quite hard to cope with my graduation course.

Working hard wherever you are will help you cross oceans.

I chose Human Resources (HR) as my specialisation in MBA for my post-graduation course mainly on the basis of my interest and after having worked in the same field for a year.

It is very important for every student to pursue any course on the basis of their own capability and choice. Nothing must be imposed on you. You must not be influenced by any other person to make choices for your future.

How I cracked college admission

I cracked admission in my current college through a number of steps – Admission Tests, Group Discussions and Personal Interview.

I gave the following entrance tests: CAT, CMAT, XAT, NMAT and MAT.

I took coaching at TIME and enrolled for various online test series to prepare for the same. Preparing for competitive exams when you are working proves to be very hectic and is almost impossible as it takes a lot of concentration and dedication to score good marks in the above exams.

I was trying for admission at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research etc.

My college life: classes, extra-curricular activities and more

I spend almost 12 hours in my college. Out of this time, classes go on for around 6-7 hours. I like to attend specific classes of HR specialisation as they seem very interesting and practical to me.

I take part in a lot of extra-curricular activities in college and hold a lot of positions of responsibility such as: President of Club Evolve, Placement Coordinator, Board of Directors at Rotaract Club of Navi Mumbai, Class Representative of HR, Research Cell Committee Member.

I actively participate and organise a lot of events at and for my college. Each and every position of responsibility keeps me extremely busy at the college. I constantly juggle between different activities and academics.

If I would be given a chance to do something else, I would want to take up more and more training in the field of HR.

My college experience has changed me a lot as a person and made me more responsible. I have learnt to manage my time in the most efficient manner in my professional as well as personal life because of my course.
