Online classes are being conducted through Zoom and the teachers are sharing assignments through emails: Vishal, GLBIMR
These are first-hand student accounts on how our young population is managing to keep their exam prep or college course work going from the confines of their homes. In case you want to share your lockdown study experience, write to us at publish@shiksha.com.
In this article, I want to share how my college is tackling the situation in this lockdown and tell you guys that how you people can utilise this lockdown time by doing various activities which would help in the career, placement as well as further studies.
As we all know about the pandemic coronavirus, due to this every country in this world is lockdown as the cases of coronavirus are increasing every day and it’s creating a big problem for everyone. In India, if this virus could not be controlled and it reaches the rural areas, this would create a big problem for every citizen.
Also, the studies of every student has got affected because many students belong to the rural areas and the internet services in these areas are not very good due to which the students cannot attend the online classes as conducted by their schools and colleges.
This is the peak time for every student as the students are waiting for the entrance exams. But, due to this pandemic, no college or university has got a chance to conduct any exam. The universities are waiting for this lockdown period to be over so that the dates of the exams could be communicated to the students.
About my classes
If I talk about myself, so, my institute takes proper classes online through Zoom app which is specially made for online meeting, lectures, etc. Similar apps are being used by most of the schools, colleges, as well as companies for their meetings. In this app, we could take a class for around 40 minutes. Through this app, the teachers share their file in front of the students which makes it easier to understand and creates a similar environment like a classroom. Also, we could give their attendance through it, which is a plus point for the students that they get their attendance in their home without going to the college.
The teachers are working towards completing their syllabus on time because whenever this lockdown period is over, the universities could take their exams without wasting much time and the next session could also start on time.
The teachers give the assignment to the students through emails. This helps in practising the content learnt in the class.
Other than this, I also started my online learning courses related to my specialisation to enhance my skills. I suggest you all should do at least one course.
