Outlook magazine releases the rankings of top B-schools in India which hold national importance. This means that it ranks those institutes which can be entitled as premier higher education institutes and play a significant role in creating a highly skilled workforce for the country. Institutes of National Importance also recognized by the government and receive fundings. The ranks are analysed by Indian Centre for Academic Rankings and Excellence (ICARE) India which is a government-approved ratings and audit agency. The magazine conducts in-depth research and survey to decide the rank of every public and private institution which offer MBA and other management courses. The data is collected from trusted and authentic sources such as NIRF, UGC, AICTE, SCOPUS, etc.
There are over 4000 MBA institutes in India, among which, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore is ranked first with an overall score of 91.77 out of 100. IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and IIM Indore are ranked second, third and fourth respectively. The institutes are assessed on global relevancy and employability-oriented parameters. These parameters include Research Productivity and Quality, Faculty-Student Ratio (FSR), Gender Diversity, Regional Diversity, Faculty Experience (Teaching/Corporate), Employability and Median Salary.
