Shiksha RTI reveals minimum CAT cut-offs at FMS Delhi
In an effort to find the minimum cut-off percentiles at various leading business schools and MBA colleges, Shiksha.com filed 182 The Right to Information Act (RTI) queries about three months ago.
The RTIs were filed for all the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) and other leading B-schools such as FMS, XLRI, S P Jain and so on. Slowly and steadily, responses to Shiksha’s RTI queries have started trickling in.
Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi was the first top B-School to respond back. Most other leading MBA colleges are yet to respond back.

RTI Queries
In the RTI, we had requested for information in three parts:
1. Minimum percentile for CAT for students called for Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal interview for full-time MBA across all categories (General, SC, ST, OBC and other categories too) for last five years.
2. Minimum percentile for CAT for students who are selected for full-time MBA across all categories (General, SC, ST, OBC and other categories too) for last five years.
3. Weightage given to work experience, written test, interview, GD, etc for final selection across all categories (General, SC, ST, OBC and other categories too) for last five years.
Though prompt, FMS Delhi only responded back with the minimum cut-offs for the last two years (CAT 2014, CAT 2013). Information related to the third query (weightage) is completely missing.
RTI Response
“Based on the CAT 2014 result declared by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) stipulations outlined in the FMS Information Bulletin and the FMS Admission Committee’s guidelines, duly approved by the University of Delhi, the following percentiles turn out to be the minimum cut-off for various categories. Accordingly, the lists of candidate eligible for the next round of admission process to MBA Programme of this Faculty, comprising of Extempore/Personal Interview, have been declared,” states the RTI response from FMS Delhi.
Here’s what they shared:
