SMU-DE announces Vidyadeep Scholarships 2014

Sikkim Manipal University, Directorate of Distance Education (SMU-DE) is offering National Level Vidyadeep Scholarship to students. This is the fifth year, wherein SMU is offering up to 100% scholarship to students who wish to pursue distant education programmes from the university. SMU will be offering scholarships to students in about 20 programmes and as part of this initiative upto 10,000 students can avail discounts in their tuition fee this year. However, a thing to note here is that these scholarships are only available on the programmes conducted through the authorized centres of SMU-DE.

A candidate is eligible to apply for the Vidyadeep scholarships on the basis of percentage of marks or equivalent secured by them in the qualifying examination (that is, marks for the whole course). The percentage criterion is as listed below:

Pass with	15% tuition fee waiver on clearance of SMU-DE SMAT Exam (Conditions applied)

All students from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura are eligible for minimum of 15% scholarship without any qualification criterion. However, they have to be in Top 250 and Top 500 students in India to be eligible for 100% and 50% scholarship.
