While experts found the exam easy and well-balanced, the students had a completely different view.
About 70% of the students we spoke to found DI and GK sections quite difficult. Another 50% found the paper lengthy and time-consuming.
For Pulkit Rastogi, “LR section was pretty lengthy and difficult. But Mathematics and English were easy.” Pulkit attempted SNAP for the first time and is currently studying at Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Noida.
Echoing similar views, Shivam Sharma, SNAP 2014 aspirant said, “The exam was easy. GK and English sections easy. But the quant section was a bit dicey. I think it will be the deciding factor of the exam.”
Second-time SNAP aspirant Parichay Gautam thought the paper was a bit different this year. “Easy and Mathematics was easy. But DI sets were tricky.”
Delhi University BCom students Parul Saluja and Somya Sachdeva found the paper average. “GK was little hard. LR was easy but time consuming. GK had very few questions from current affairs. Most questions were from static GK.” Questions such as ‘Who initiated the Bachpan Bachao Andolan?’ was asked.

Abhinav Kaul, final year engineering student at Pune Institute of Computer Technology, said, “There were few international questions. But it had more questions on India such as national treasures, etc. It was more India-related rather than international.”
Mohit Mrinal found the paper very time consuming. “The analytical and Quant parts were calculation-intensive. That’s why it took a lot of time. As a result, we didn’t have too much time to read the passages and skipped questions. Another factor was that the exam was in pen and paper format. The answers had to be marked in OMR sheet. So a little out of practice there.”
However, MBA expert Manish Harodia, founder of Genesis Mentors, said, “I feel the paper was very balanced and similar to the previous years. It should not throw a lot of variation from previous cut offs unless the number of applicants has changed significantly this year. A score of about 95-98 should be very good to expect the best calls under SNAP.”
