SNAP 2016

SNAP test conducted by Symbiosis International University is conducted in the month of December every year.

MBA aspirants desirous of appearing for the exam must apply for it in the month of August, when the registration begins.

Eligibility to appear in the exam is as follows:

  • The candidate must be a graduate with minimum 50 % marks obtained in any discipline from a recognized university at the time of taking the test.
  • For SC/ST candidates the minimum requirement is 45 % in graduation.
  • Those who are in their final year can also apply, provided they can present their final result at the time of admission.
  • Applicants obtaining qualifying degree from any Foreign University must provide an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Symbiosis International University also has a provision of reservation for students from various sections of the society as per UGC norms.

Scheduled Caste: 15%

Scheduled Tribe: 7.5%

Differently Abled: 3%

International candidates: 15 %

Kashmiri Migrants: 2 seats per program

Types of disability covered in the ‘Differently Abled’ category are:

Preparation tips for SNAP 2016

In the Defence category, reservation policy is applicable in the following manner (as per information available on SNAP website):

As per MoU with Ministry of Defence clause no. 13 sub clause (d) The term Defence Personnel would mean only those serving/ retired Defence Personnel from the Army, Navy and Air Force who fall in the category of ex-serviceman as laid down vide Ministry of Defence Letter no. 36034/5/85 -Estt (SCT) dated 14th April, 1987.

Reservation of the seats within the intake:

Defence Category- General: 80% seats for dependents (Children/Ward) of Defence personnel. (as per merit)

Defence category- Special: 10% seats for dependents of Defence personnel killed in action (war, Counter Insurgency or war like operation), disabled in action (war, Counter Insurgency or war like operation), with more than 50% disability, next of kin of service personnel who have died while in service, death being attributable to military service (as per merit).

Open Category: 10% seats are in open category to civilian candidates sponsored/ recommended by the Industry (as per merit).

Reservation of the seats over and above the intake:

Officers of Armed Forces on Study Leave as authorized by respective Services HQs are granted automatic admission subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

Candidates seeking admission through reservation quote, must present required valid certificates at the time for admission. They can submit a provisional proof too, but they will have to submit the original proof within a month failing which, the admission will be cancelled.

SNAP test is conducted in 30 cities across India. The candidate can select the centre of preference at the time of filling up the application form.
