Conducted by the Symbiosis International University, Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) test is a mandatory common written test for admissions to all the Postgraduate Institutes of Symbiosis International University (SIU). Besides this test, aspirants need to undergo the selection process of the desired Institute to qualify for the admission.

From the academic year 2014-15 onwards, SIU has revamped the admission process bringing it under one umbrella. This simplified and streamlined process will have centralised admissions for the benefit of candidates applying to various post graduate programmes at the University. In other words, aspirants have to now deal with just one form and PI-WAT for all PG programmes in Symbiosis... something like Shiksha’s single MBA online form.

This central admission process is candidate-friendly, convenient, advantageous and economical to an applicant. The chief features of the new centralised process are:

  • Single registration process for all MBA programs at all institutes of SIU.
  • Reduced registration fees for multiple programs.
  • Single Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test (PI-WAT) process for all MBA programs, at multiple locations (Pune, NOIDA and Bengaluru campuses of SIU).
  • SNAP Test Score + Academic Profile Score will form the basis for short listing candidates for Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test (PI-WAT).
  • Academic Profile Score will be computed on the basis of weights assigned to academic performance in 10th Std., 12th Std. and Graduation.
  • Group Exercise (GE) process has been eliminated.

The new admission process covers all the B-schools under SIU including SIBM– Pune, SICSR, SCMHRD, SIIB, SITM, SIMS, SIMC Pune, SIOM Nashik, SCIT, SIHS, SIBM-Bengaluru, SIMC- Bengaluru, SSBM.

Till last year, candidate would register for SNAP & re-register with each institute under SIU for their choice of program by paying separate institute registration fees. Separate GD, PI and WAT were held by each of these institutes. The new simplified process is expected to surge the number of applications.

Eligibility

Graduates in any discipline from Statutory University with minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) for all the Master of Business Administration Programme, expect for the Programmes, which requires graduate with specific subject specializations. These specializations are mentioned on the respective institute's web site.
