A student can perform not so well in CAT, but definitely can do well in other upcoming entrance exams. So just keep studying with full dedication and keep confidence in yourself.

It may happen that you did not perform according to your expectation in the Common Admission Test (CAT). That may be due to several reasons. I would suggest that you should not get demotivated and try to do well in other exams such as SNAP, XAT, etc. Generally, CAT happens at first before the other exam. I have seen a student get 60 percentile in CAT, and get 99 percentile in CET. So you need to keep in mind, “failure is the key to success”.

A student can perform not so well in CAT, but definitely can do well in other upcoming entrance exams. So just keep studying with full dedication and keep confidence in yourself.

  • If you can identify any mistakes such as improper time management, need for revision for a specific topic, etc., just do that to improve yourself so that you can perform better in upcoming exams. First, try to analyse those mistakes by yourself and if possible, take help from your teachers and try not to repeat those mistakes in the next exams.
  • I would like to suggest you don’t only apply for CAT (if you are fully confident also). I would rather suggest, apply for at least two more exams so that you can get other chances to perform well in case of any mishap happens. Backup is always is a better option.
  • Some people are passionate about some colleges and have full confidence in themselves. In such cases, you can think of reappearing for CAT next year. But, your first preference should be given to other exams with your 100 per cent efficiency. Who knows maybe you can get a decent college through your bad CAT score. This has also happened earlier.
  • You can search for an alternative who take other exams like XAT, CMAT, NMAT, etc. Some colleges also have their own exams such as SRCC-GBO, IBSAT, etc. You can look into those options also. You can refer to Shiksha for this, too. All MBA-related exams are there with all relevant information and maybe you can subscribe for an alert so that you don’t miss any deadline. You should keep yourself updated with all these MBA related exams and colleges.
  • For increasing your score focus on your weak areas and try to practice as many problems as you can in those areas. Try to analyse your mocks and learn from your mistakes. This is the best way to learn for a person. The next point to increase your score is to utilise your time, effectively. In CAT or XAT exam, every second matter. So, try to manage time efficiently and effectively and that comes from practice. Keep patience and believe in yourself and give your 100 per cent.
