Many factors are taken into consideration by the interviewers during PI. Candidate must work on enhancing their confidence level, communication skills, and subject knowledge to clear their PI.

Personal Interview (PI) is the last yet very important round of the admission process in B-Schools. Students need to be extra careful during their PI as the smallest detail is evaluated by the interviewer. In this article, we will discuss some of the parameters taken into account for assessment during PI.

Before discussing the parameters, one personal advice that I want to share is trying to be yourself during the interview. Concentrate on the questions asked and try to give the correct and best answers during your PI.

Ten important parameters with tips considered for assessment during PI are given below:

  • Subject Knowledge: The first parameter is subject knowledge. The interviewer always checks the subject knowledge of the candidate during the interview and it alone can be enough for evaluators to judge you and make their decision. Go through the trending GDPI topics and current affairs.
  • There could a situation where the candidate does not know the answer to the question asked. In such a scenario, politely convey that you do not know about this topic As trying to be over-smart while answering and giving answers despite not knowing it could affect the result of the PI. Also, Reach on time for the interview to give a good first impression.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills and presentation skills are often important during PI. Talk clearly and confidently while replying. Always think before speaking.
  • Listening Skills: Be a good listener. Always listen to the question completely, in other words, wait for the interviewer to finish the question.
  • Leadership Skills: Showcase leadership skills by highlighting and backing the activities mentioned in the resume.
  • Body Language: Maintain a positive body language and proper eye contact during the interview. Thank the interview after the completion of the interview.
  • Confidence: Always sound confident while replying during the interview. Highlight achievements and initiatives that were taken during college or internship.
  • Enthusiasm: Show interest in the discussion even when the topic discussed is not interesting for you.
