TANCET-MBA 2016 syllabus and pattern
TANCET MBA 2016 to be held on June 11, 2016 will consist of sections which will evaluate the candidate’s five different abilities.
The entrance exam, conducted every year by Anna University on the behalf of Tamil Nadu government, tests the candidate for admission in MBA course offered by several state colleges.
The test includes:
- Analysis of Business Situation: To assess the importance of data and its application to business decisions in the form of case study describing the typical business situations.
- Reading and Comprehension: To assess reading ability and answering passage based question. Check short cut techniques for tackling reading and comprehension
- Quantitative Test: To assess the skills related to mathematical problems at graduation level.
- Data Sufficiency: To assess the ability of the candidate to evaluate on analytical reasoning and data interpretation.
- English Usage: To assess the candidate’s command on English language through questions related to grammar and vocabulary.

The test paper includes 100 questions of multiple choice answer carrying one mark each. For every correct answer the candidate is awarded with one mark. There is negative marking of 1/3 for each incorrect answer.
Last year, about 18,000 students appeared for the exam to secure admission in University Departments, University College of Engineering, Regional Centres of Anna University, Government and Government-aided engineering colleges, Arts and Science colleges and self-financing colleges across the state of Tamil Nadu.
TANCET also conducts entrance test in engineering courses namely, ME, M Tech, M Arch and M Plan. The application form is common for both engineering and management exam which can be downloaded from the university’s official website till May 21, 2016.
