TISSNET 2023 Online Assessments consist of two rounds- Online Personal Interview and Extempore. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for both rounds. On the basis of the candidate’s performance in the TISSNET exam and Online Assessments, final merit list will be released.

Q:   Can I do MBA from TISS Mumbai?

A:

The Executive Post Graduate Diploma (EPGD) at TISS Mumbai serves as a viable alternative to their MBA program, featuring a comparable structure and format, and it offers a total of 35 seats, with eligibility requiring a minimum of three years of work experience. Shortlisting for the TISS Mumbai MBA program is based on performance in the TISSNET MBA 2023 examination. Additionally, there are specific enrollment numbers for other EPGD programs: 50 for Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management, 35 for Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Organization Development and Change, and 30 for Executive Postgraduate Diploma in Climate and Disaster Risk Assessments for Sustainability.

 

Q:   Is TISS an MBA entrance exam?

A:

No, TISS is the name of University i.e., Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The exam conducted for the admission to the postgraduate programmes is called TISSNET. EPGDODC is a 14-months programme which is equivalent to the MBA programme at TISS. TISSNET (TISS National Entrance Test) is a university level entrance exam conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences for admission to PG programme. Candidates must prepare according to the TISSNET syllabus and study according to the TISSNET Pattern.

Q:   Does TISS Mumbai accept CAT score?

A:

No, TISS Mumbai doesn't accept Common Admission Test or CAT for admission to its MBA programme. However, the institute does accepts The Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) or CUET PG for admission. Candidates are therefore required to register for the CUET PG exam before applying for the MBA programme at TISS Mumbai. Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai does not offer an MBA programme. However, it does offer similar programme in Management, Including MA in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations, Social Entrepreneurship, Globalization and Labor, etc.

Candidates must install and test the ZOOM for Windows / iOS / Android applications on their device beforehand to ensure a smooth Online Assessment without any technical issues. This application will be used for the TISS Online Assessment (OA).

Steps before TISS Online Assessments

  1. Select your device for Online Assessments

Candidates must choose the device- Laptop/Desktop/Smartphone/Tablet from which they wish to appear for the OA. Candidates must be comfortable with the device to avoid any glitches.

  1. Install video conferencing applications

Candidates must now download the zoom application in the selected device which will be used for conducting the Online Assessments. Candidates must ensure that the application is working well.

  1. Test the internet connectivity

Candidates must ensure to check the internet connection, mic and camera settings while using the Zoom application. Candidates must familiarize with the function of Zoom application before appearing for Online Assessments by connecting with a friend/family on Zoom to see if the video and audio are working well.

Q:   Who is eligible for TISS MBA?

A:

To be eligible for the MBA (EPGD programme) at TISS the candidates require a minimum of three years of post-graduation work experience. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree with a duration of at least three years or an equivalent qualification from an accredited university. This degree can be acquired through various educational formats like 10+2+3, 10+2+4, 10+2+2+1 (with a bridge course), or any other structure that meets the prerequisite of completing 15 years of formal education.

Q:   How many seats are available for various courses offered at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad?

The verbal ability section of TISSNET has 30 questions. You can prepare for this section by using these tips: 1. Refer to some good books like "How to Prepare for Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension" by Arun Sharma and Meenakshi Upadhyay. 3. For the reading comprehension part, develop the habit of reading passages in newspaper editorials. 4. Q:   Which are the important topics for English Proficiency for TISSNET preparation?

A:
Some of the important topics that are covered under English proficiency syllabus are: Word Choice/Sentence Correction, Odd one out, Analogies, Synonyms & Antonyms, Grammar, Verbal reasoning and Reading comprehension. As per the previous year question paper analysis, some of the questions that can be expected from the topics mentions above includes: word substitute in a sentence, right usage of word in fill in the blanks, right usage of word in match the following, fill in the blanks with homophones/idioms, matching and error spotting- words/ grammar/punctuation, short and long reading comprehension. The type of questions asked in Reading Comprehension passage are- strengths and weakness, purpose of the passage, assumption and supporting statements, passage based questions, author's point of view, inference and conclusion, main idea of the passage.

Q:   How hard is it to get into TISS MA HRM?

A:

Admission to TISS's MA HRM programme is competitive and challenging due to the institute's esteemed reputation and rigorous selection process. Candidates must undergo a series of stages, including the TISSNET entrance exam, group discussion, and personal interviews. TISSNET evaluates candidates' analytical, logical reasoning, and English proficiency skills. Shortlisted candidates proceed to the group discussion, where their communication, critical thinking, and presentation abilities are assessed. Those who qualify move on to the personal interview, during which the panel evaluates factors such as academic background, work experience, motivation, and understanding of HRM concepts. With a limited number of seats and a large applicant pool, competition for admission to the MA HRM programme at TISS is intense. Aspiring candidates must prepare thoroughly in academics and enhance their communication and critical thinking skills to enhance their chances of securing a spot in this highly sought-after programme.

  1. Select the proper location to take OA

Candidates must select the proper location to take OA from where there is no possibility of disturbances and movement of people in the screen during the OA. Candidates must select the location with good internet connection and sufficient light so that they are visible and audible to the panel members.

If one is location on poor connection area, he/she may consider moving temporarily to different place to take Online Assessment ti ensure there is no interruption.

If the candidate unable to attend the OA due to internet connectivity, non availability of the IT equipment for the OA, Institute will not be responsible for the same and no alternative arrangement will be provided by the Institute.

  1. Test the Zoom meeting operations

Candidates are advise to test the Zoom application with their friends/colleagues/family members to ensure that the video and audio are working well and candidate is ready to appear for the Online Assessments when conducted.

  1. Plan for any glitches

Candidates must also ensure to have a backup plan if they face any glitch on the day of Online Assessment. For instance, candidates must have Zoom application in other device for emergency use.

On the Day of Online Assessment

  1. Test all equipment prior to the online assessment time

Candidates must perform a run-through test one hour prior to the Online Assessment. This way will help candidates to become familiar with the application and process. Device must be fully charged and keep the device on charging mode during the complete OA process. In case of power failure, there will be no interruption.

  1. Dress appropriately

There is no specific dress code to appear for Online Assessments. However, candidates are advised to dress appropriately as they would appear for any offline interview.

  1. Set up the place to take OA

Candidates must close all the other tabs/applications other than the Zoom application while taking the OA. Candidates must also keep the registered movile number available with them so that TISS helpdesk can connect before the start of the TISSNET 2023 Online Assessments.

During the TISSNET 2023 Online Assessment

  1. Interview Schedule

Candidates will be allotted the date and time for the Online Assessment that will be mentioned as first half or second half of the day. The Zoom link will be sent to the candidates two days prior to the assigned date of OA. The first half session begins at 10 AM to 1 PM and the second half session begins at 2 PM and ends at approximately 7 PM.

Candidates will receive the call from TISS officials an hour prior to the time of commenecemt to join the Zoom link. If candidates miss the opportunity to join the online interview no request for change in date will be accepted. If any candidate does not receive the call they may login the Zoom meeting at 11 AM for the first half or 2.30 PM for the second half.

  1. Waiting Room

After entering the login credentials shared over mail, candidates will be asked to wait in the waiting room. May other candidates will be joining on the same link. Candidates must mute the mic in the waiting room.

  1. Lobby Room

As candidates will be approaching closer to the OA time, they will be taken into lobby room to test the internet connection, audio, video and other technical requirements. Candidates will be interacting with the OA coordinator and they may ask few questions. If found some other person has joined on behalf of the shortlisted candidate , such candidate will be rejected.

  1. Look Directly Into the Camera

Candidates must refrain looking from anywhere else during the Online Assessments. Candidates creating unnecessary movements will be disqualified.

  1. Online Assessment

Once the candidate move into OA room, the panel members will interact with the candidate for approximately 30 minutes or more. If the candidate exit himself/herself during the OA, he/she will be marked absent. If there is any technical glitch, OA will be considered incomplete. The officials may connect with the candidate to complete the OA same day. Candidates will be allotted slot depending upon the availability of the slot.

  1. After Online Assessment

After completing the OA, candidates must immediately exit the room and close the Zoom application on their device.

  1. Disqualification will Occur Under the Following Conditions

If the candidate is being requested continuously to look straight and referring any study materials.

Candidates indulging in any unfair means. Further, recording of video/audio of the OA will be prohibited, if found strict action will be taken.

Any form of misbehavior, ill-treatment, and use of objectionable language with any of the staff members/panels members will lead to immediate removal of the said candidate from the OA process and might lead to disqualification from the Admission Process at TISS for period of 03 years.
