Schumacher recovers from accident

Michael Schumacher, F1 legend had injured his head while on a skiing trip at the French Alps resort of Meribel in December, 2013. After the accident he was operated for brain haemorrhage and thereafter left in a coma. The seven-time world champion who was earlier fighting for his life came out of his coma in June 2014 and left the hospital after 254 days of the accident in September 2014. The legend who is known to have won a record 91 F1 races is currently recovering at his family home in Gland.

Federer loses

The tennis star, Roger Federer lost many series in 2014. The list is as follows:

  • Lost  the US Open against Croatia’s Marin Cilic
  • Lost Wimbledon to Novak Djokovic
  • Lost the Italian Open to Jeremy Chardy of France

Nadal injured

Defending champion, Rafal Nadal pulled out of the US Open because he injured his right wrist while practicing at his home island of Mallorca ahead of the North American hard-court circuit.

FIFA world Cup 2014 highlights

The 20th FIFA World Cup took place in Brazil. The finals were held between Germany and Argentina wherein Germany won by 1-0 and grabbed the winner’s title for the fourth time and Argentina became the runners up. The third and fourth spot were held by Netherlands and Brazil. Other award winners of the tournament were:

  • Adidas Golden Boot: James Rodriguez
  • Adidas Golden Glove: Manuel Neuer

Woods returns to golf

Former world number 1, Tiger Woods returned to the practice range after he underwent a back surgery in March 2014. Sources reveal that Woods would compete in the Hero World Challenge which is scheduled to be conducted in December, 2014.
