XAT 2015: How to apply
Important dates for Xavier Aptitude Test 2015 (XAT 2015) have been declared and the exam conducted by XLRI on behalf of XAMI is scheduled to be conducted on January 5, 2015. Know the important dates now!
According to exclusive information with Shiksha.com, the official notification for XAT 2015 will be published in various newspapers tomorrow.
XAT 2015, a pen-paper based examination will be conducted at 48 cities in India and at two international cities which are Dubai and Kathmandu. View eligibility criteria and test centres.
Registration for XAT 2015 will commence on August 12, 2014 and end on November 22, 2014. The steps to be followed so as to complete the registration process area s follows:
Step 1: Create a password
Candidates can register for the examination on the official website of XAT 2015 by clicking on the XAT Registration link. On this page, candidates need to fill preliminary information like their name, date of birth, contact details and thereafter create their own password for all future logins. The password made by candidates should contain minimum of four characters and maximum of 15 characters.

Step 2: Fill the complete registration form
Once a candidate submits the password, they will receive their XAT ID by email. After receiving the XAT ID, candidates need to login to their account and fill other details in a form such as their educational qualification etc. Candidates also need to select the city from where they would like to appear for XAT 2015.
Step 3: Payment of fee
After filling all their details through their XAT ID the next step to be taken by candidates is to pay the fee for the examination. The fee for XAT 2015 is Rs 1000 for all candidates.
Step 4: Select the mode of payment
Candidates are given an option to select their mode of payment of fee for XAT 2015. The options for fee payment are as follows:
Mode 1 - Online Payment
In this mode, applicants can pay the fee through VISA/Master debit or credit cards or through IDBI net banking. Candidates need to pay attention to the fact that American Express Card is inadmissible for payment of fee for XAT 2015.
Mode 2 - Cash Payment
Applicants can even pay the fee for XAT 2015 on cash basis. However, in such a situation, applicants need to take a print-out of the XAT Pay-In-Slip and visit the nearest IDBI bank and make the fee payment.
Mode 3 - Demand Draft
Applicants can even pay XAT 2015’s fee by means of a demand draft (DD). Here, candidates need to submit a DD made in favour of “XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT” which is payable at Jamshedpur.
While selecting the mode of payment of fee for XAT 2015, applicants need to be extremely cautious if they are selecting “Mode 2” or “Mode 3” for fee payment. In such a scenario, applicants need to update the payment details in the registration page itself. If they fail to do so then such candidates will not be allowed to upload their photograph and signature.
Step 5: Upload photograph and signature
The next step in XAT 2015’s registration process involves uploading of scanned digital photograph and signature of candidates. Applicants need to ensure here that the photo and signature uploaded by them is not more than 50 KB in size and should be in “jpeg” format.

Applicants need to upload their recent colour passport size photograph in digital format at the XAT 2015 registration page. The picture should be taken against a light/white background. In case the face of the applicants in the photograph is not clear, then their application is liable to be rejected.
Uploading Signature
The applicant should sign on a white paper with a black ink pen. Candidates need to ensure that their signature does not contain any capital letters.
After this, candidates need to scan the signature in 200 dpi (dots per inch) scanner resolution settings and the file size should be less than 50 kb in jpeg format. To reduce the size, candidates can crop the image of the signature in MS Paint or any other Photo Editor. Applicants need to ensure that only the signature portion is cropped and not the entire A4 paper on which they have signed.

Step 6: Print confirmation page
Once the photograph and signature is uploaded by the candidate successfully, the system will generate a “Confirmation Page” of the applicant which will contain their pre-printed photograph and signature. Candidates need to take a print out of this confirmation page.
The confirmation page issued to every candidate will have a XAT ID and for any future correspondence with the XAT office candidates need to mention their XAT ID.
Step 7: Send confirmation page
Applicants, who have made the payments through IDBI internet banking, credit/debit cards or cash are not required to send the confirmation page to XAT Office. However, those who have select DD as a mode of payment in their registration form need to send their DD along with the confirmation page to the address – XAT office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur- 831001 within fifteen days from the issuance of DD.
Step 8: Download XAT bulletin
Candidates can then download the XAT 2015 e-bulletin from the official website of XLRI.
Step 9: Download admit card
The last and final step in XAT 2015 registration is the downloading of admit cards by applicants. Admit card will be uploaded on the official website of XAT 2015 by December 18, 2014 and candidates can download the same till December 31, 2014.
