Xavier University to offer MBA and PhD programs

Department of Higher Education (DHE) has given a go ahead to the new Xavier University to start various MBA and PhD programmes from the upcoming academic session beginning June 2014.

According to sources, the newly launched varsity will offer courses like: MBA (general, specialised and global), HR management, rural management, five-year integrated commerce and PhD programmes.

“Management courses like rural management and human resource management will have 120 seats each, while the integrated commerce course will have 240 seats and there will be 60 seats for the PhD programmes,” informed a senior officer from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) to TOI.

Sources further informed that the newly launched university will have an intake capacity of 5,000 students and about 400 faculty members.

The Xavier University Bill affirming the launch of the university was passed on April 6, with 50% reservation for students of Odisha.

Scores of national entrances like CAT, MAT and GMAT will be accepted for admissions.
