18 students of Odisha-based charitable body cracks NEET-UG 2021
Eighteen students of an Odisha-based charitable body have cracked the NEET UG 2021.
Ever since National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG 2021) results have been declared on November 1, the success stories are pouring in from across the country. The latest one is, 18 students from an Odisha based charitable foundation, by the name Zindagi Foundation, have managed to crack the all India pre-medical entrance test NEET-UG 2021.
All these students come from the deprived sections of society. Most of these students are children of the rickshaw driver, milk vendor, landless farmer and weaver.
Zindagi Foundation is an NGO (Non-governmental organization) run by academician Ajay Bahadur Singh. He had missed out the medical education due to his poor economic background and now he is helping other underprivileged students in cracking NEET and becoming doctors. The NGO selects the talented underprivileged students from across Odisha through a state-level screening test and the selected candidates get free food, lodging and coaching.
"The challenge was bigger this time as due to the COVID pandemic it was difficult to hold physical classes most of the time. But we did not let the students' spirit sag. We arranged smartphones for those who could not borrow them from friends or relatives and imparted online classes by our expert teachers," said Singh, as reported by TOI.
As per the statement issued by the Zindagi Foundation, the NGO started functioning in 2017, and in 2018, all its 18 students who were coached by this NGO cleared NEET. In 2019, fourteen students of the NGO cleared the medical entrance examination and in 2020, all 19 students cleared the entrance test.
