Aspirants Await Update on NEET 2021 Post JEE Main 2021 Dates Announcement

Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal โ€˜Nishankโ€™ announced the JEE Main 2021 third and fourth phases on a Social Media Live session on July 6 at 7 pm. While the JEE Main aspirants are happy to know the exam dates and the fact that the application window will be reopened for three days, the NEET 2021 aspirants are still in dark. Despite posting multiple questions on the status of NEET 2021, and requesting postponement of the exam, the Minister has not made any comment or announcement regarding NEET 2021.

This has disappointed the NEET 2021 candidates further since, despite multiple requests, NTA or the Ministry have not yet provided any clarity to the students.

However, it can be expected an official announcement will be made on NEET 2021 soon since NTA has presented its report on the status of conducting NEET today. It is likely that the Education Minister would announce NEET 2021 date soon and NTA would start the application procedure at the earliest.

Possibility of Exam Getting Postponed Beyond August 1

Since NTA would be conducting JEE Main 2021 third and fourth phases from July 20 to July 25 and July 27 to August 2 respectively, there is a possibility of conducting NEET 2021 on the originally scheduled date of August 1. Even if the exam is not conducted on August 1 itself, there is a chance that it will be conducted in the third or fourth week of August. It is also assumed that the NEET 2021 application window will get shorter than usual, which is around 60 days as the application forms have not been released yet.

Amid multiple speculations, students are demanding for the exam to be postponed to October or be conducted in multiple phases. An official announcement is what is required right now to answer all the concerns of the NEET aspirants.
