MGMCRI's super-speciality entrance exam on Aug 4
MahatmaGandhiMedicalCollege and Research Institute (MGMCRI) will conduct a common entrance test for admission to its super-speciality courses on August 4, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
MGMCRI, affiliated to SriBalajiVidyapeethUniversity, is a super speciality institute that offers Masters degree courses to medicos who want to become specialists. It is one of the leading medical schools of Puducherry (also known asPondicherry).
Recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, it has tie-ups with renowned medical schools worldwide, such as Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, University of Glasgow and the Hull York Medical School, England.
Student Intake
The intake is one each in the following super-speciality courses in the institute:
- D.M. Cardiology
- D.M. Neurology (awaiting MCI approval)
- M.Ch. Urology
- M.Ch. Cardio Thoracic Surgery
- M.Ch. Neuro Surgery
Eligibility criteria
For admission to D.M. in Cardiology course, applicants must have obtained a post graduate degree in General Medicine from a recognised University, as per the requirements of the Medical Council of India.
For M.Ch. courses, applicants must have obtained a post graduate degree in General Surgery from a recognised University, as per the requirements of the Medical Council of India.
Exam pattern
The MGMCRI super-speciality entrance test has a one-and-a-half hour written paper that consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries one mark.
The exam has two parts; each part carrying a total of 50 marks:
Paper I : Basic Surgical or Medical related subjects
Paper II : Super-Speciality subject

Merit List
The rank list or merit list of this common entrance test will be published on the website of the institute. MGMCRI will not intimate the candidates separately.
To be eligible for counselling, general category candidates need to secure at least 50% marks in the CET while SC/ST/MBC students need to secure at least 40% marks in the exam.
