NEET 2021: Kerala HC asks NTA explanation on time lost over booklet confusion
The Kerala High Court has sought NTA's reply on the alleged sloppiness of an invigilator which resulted in around 30 minutes of time lost to NEET 2021 candidates.
After a National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) candidate has filed a petition in the Kerala High Court seeking a retest of the NEET 2021 examination, the court has asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) for an explanation in this matter.
The candidate has alleged that her OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet could be rejected due to the sloppiness of the invigilator. According to her, the invigilator distributed the OMR sheet after the examination started and the sheets were pre-filled.
As reported by Live Law, the candidate has alleged that the overall confusion has resulted in a loss of 30 minutes of precious time of the candidates at the exam centre. Also, according to her, this can negatively affect her chances of getting admission to the MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) course.
The alleged incident took place at Sree Narayana Public School. The candidate's advocate argued that even though the candidate reached the examination centre by 11 am and was seated in her room by 12 pm, the candidates at the centre received their booklets by 2 pm. The information bulletin clearly mentioned that the candidates should receive the test booklet including the answer sheets at 1.45 pm.
NEET 2021 was conducted on September 12 at 3,855 exam centres.
