NEET 2021 is scheduled to be held on September 12 in 198 cities across India. 

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today met the Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian to discuss various issues of Tamil Nadu, including NEET-UG 2021. The Health Minister urged the Education Minister to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET 2021 exam owing to the COVID-19 situation in the state. It must be noted that NEET 2021 is scheduled to be held on September 12 in 198 cities across India. Newly appointed Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on June 12 announced the much-awaited NEET 2021 exam date. However, the other NEET 2021 important dates  have not been announced yet.

During the meeting, the Union Education Minister informed the TN Minister about various steps that are been taken by the government to conduct the NEET exams 2021 smoothly.  "Also, shared with him that to cater to regional aspirations, the number of languages being offered this year has been increased to 11 from 13 with the addition of Malayalam and Punjabi. The exam is already being conducted in the Tamil language," Education Minister tweeted. 

"The Hon. Minister@Subramanian_ma was also informed that for the convenience of the students of Tamil Nadu, 4 new cities Chengalpet, Virudhunagar, Dindigul and Tiruppur have been added for conducting NEET(UG). The number of cities has been increased to 18 from last year’s 14.

The number of NEET 2021 examination centres will also be increased. " he informed via tweet. 

The NEET 2021 application process commenced on June 13, 2021, from 5 pm onwards on the official NTA website. Candidates must note that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2021 application form can be submitted on or before August 7.

It must be noted that this year, the number of cities in which NEET 2021 will be conducted has been increased from 155 to 198. A first, NEET will be conducted outside India, in the city of Kuwait. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated, “For the first time in the history of NEET(UG) exam and in order to facilitate the Indian student community in the middle east, an examination center has been opened in Kuwait.”
