PM Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh on October 25 to inaugurate nine medical colleges in the state.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Uttar Pradesh was cancelled on July 30 for inaugurating the nine medical colleges in the state, now he is all set to inaugurate these colleges in the presence of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He will also address a rally during his visit.

It is going to be a historical opportunity for the state and the state government is preparing for the special event. These nine medical colleges will be in the states of Ghazipur, Fatehpur, Etah, Deoria, Hardoi, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Mirzapur, and Siddhartha Nagar.

Earlier PM visit was cancelled as these medical colleges were awaiting recognition and now after these medical colleges have got recognised, the PM has once again planned to visit the state. CM Yogi has already promised medical colleges in each district of the state before the Assembly election 2022.

The state government is working towards improving the health infrastructure in the state and aiming for more medical colleges in future. By 2017, UP had only 12 government medical colleges, however now as per the NMC data, UP has 57 medical colleges of which 29 are government medical colleges. Moreover, 13 more medical colleges' construction work is going on in full swing. 

The state government is aiming for 14 new medical colleges in 2021-22 and in 16 districts where there are no medical colleges, the government is planning to establish medical colleges in 6 months through the PPP (Public-private partnership) model.
