Tata Medical Center Super Specialty CET 2012
Tata Medical Center is a recognized training center for cancer educationand research by national and international organizations such as WHO, IAEA and UICC. It will conduct theTata Memorial Centre- Super Specialty CET 2012 on July 22, 2012 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. It is affiliated to the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) (Deemed University) under Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, and National Board of Examinations. Students on clearing this test will be admitted to the following programmes:
- DM (Critical Care)
- DM (Gastroenterology)
- DM (Paediatric Oncology)
Eligibility Criteria:
For taking this test the eligibility criteria has been listed below:
- For DM Critical Care Medicine,
The candidate must possess a MCI recognized postgraduate degree (MD or equivalent) in Anaesthesia, internal medicine or Respiratory /Pulmonary Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
- For DM Pediatric Oncology
The candidate is required to possess a MCI recognized postgraduate degree (MD or equivalent) in Pediatric.
- For DM Medical Gastroenterology
The candidate must possess a MCI recognized postgraduate degree (MD or equivalent) in Medicine.
- It is necessary for the candidate to have passed the qualifying examination (MD or equivalent) in no more than two attempts.
- Students pursuing any DM/MCh/DNB (Super Specialty) anywhere in India are not eligible.
- Candidates who have appeared for MD/DNB exam this year may also apply. They will be provisionally admitted for the CET. If selected for interview, candidate should have final result of MD/MS/DNB at the date of Interview (Viva).
- The candidates must not be more than 40 years of age on the day of CET.
Exam Pattern:
This entrance comprises of a single Multiple Choice Question type paper of 180 minutes. It consists of 120 questions in each of the three subjects and to clear each paper one must secure at least 50% marks in each subject. The 120 MCQs will include clinical case and problem solving questions. While each correct answer will fetch one mark, each wrong answer will deduct 0.5 marks. A separate merit list will be prepared for each of the subjects and a fixed number of candidates (5 times the allotted seat) will be selected for the viva. The final merit list will consider 150 marks and will be based on the 120 marks of the MCQ entrance along with the 30 marks viva.

Viva:
After the students have cleared the entrance, they will be eligible for the Viva exam. It has a structured format with due credit for previous academic performance, publications, conference presentations, awards, Oncology experience etc. Candidates must bring along the original and copies of these to receive credits.
The date will be declared on the date of the entrance exam.
