UPPPGMEE 2012 saw majority students scoring 50%-74% marks

UPPGMEE or UP post graduate medical entrance exam is organised by the Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University every year. This year it was held on 26th February 2012 and the results were declared in a record time on 1st March 2012. More than 3,000 candidates had taken the examination against 400 seats in state medical colleges and CSMMU.

The university spokesperson Abbas Mahdi said the exam was divided into MD/MS and MDS categories. It was seen that among the top 50, there were only 11 OBC candidates while no students from SC/ST category could make its mark. Out of 3,243 candidates, 142 candidates secured more than 75% while more than 2,000 candidates secured within a range of 50%-74% marks. The remaining candidates scored between 40-49% marks.

In MD/MS category Gunjan Bhatnagar was judged first followed by Garima Dang, Shubham Singhal, Disha Agarwal and Rajeev Singh at second, third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.
