Career in Radiology
Radiology is a medical specialty that employs the use of imaging to both diagnose and treat disease visualized within the human body. Radiology is used in conjunction with most medical specialties, to diagnose problems in a variety of areas within the human body, including the brain, heart, digestive system, and just about any organ or system within the body. Courses in Radiology range from diploma to postgraduate diploma and from B.Sc. to MD.
Eligibility:
The minimum qualification to pursue any course in Radiology is 12th passed.
Career Prospects:
Radiologists direct an array of imaging technologies (such as ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)) to diagnose or treat disease. Interventional radiology is the performance of (usually minimally invasive) medical procedures with the guidance of imaging technologies. The acquisition of medical imaging is usually carried out by the radiographer or radiologic technologist.
