Mystory@Kavya HB: How I selected my course and made my career

I always wanted to go into the field of medicine and I secured a seat in a government college. I chose to study PharmD from Sri Adichunchanagiri College of Pharmacy. The duration of the course is 6 years and it includes the study of subjects like Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapeutics, and Clinical Research. The 5^th year includes project work, and the 6^th year is dedicated completely to internship which involved more of practical work than theoretical knowledge.

Our lectures were well coordinated. The doctors taught us everything about patient counseling, drug interactions monitoring, ADR monitoring etc. I used be there with the patients most of the times as that I could gain practical exposure.

I believe I have studied in a good college and with the support of my mentors I got a chance to be a part of many medical camps where I could educate the public about drug safety. The doctors were extremely good and I got to learn a lot from them. I believe that I got a great exposure and a highly beneficial environment.
