Rajasthan government directed the schools to commence offline classes with a 50 percent capacity in the month of September.

COVID-19 Crisis: Amid the reopening of schools across the country, more than 11 students of a school in Rajasthan’s Jaipur tested positive for novel coronavirus. Considering the virus spread, the school authorities announced the closure of the school until further notice. The step has been taken to prevent the further spread of the infection, according to India Today. Rajasthan commenced reopening of schools, colleges, and educational institutions approximately after a gap of one and a half years. While the online classes continue for Classes 1 to 8, Rajasthan reopened schools for Classes 9 to 12 with a 50 percent capacity.

Rajasthan government directed the schools to commence offline classes with a 50 percent capacity in the month of September. To ensure the safety of students and staff members, the state government also directed all the teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure that they are administered with at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Latest reports suggest that Rajasthan has witnessed over 18 new cases of novel coronavirus over the last week. In order to review the situation of COVID-19 and dengue in the state, a high-level meeting was conducted chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, Rajasthan has witnessed a total of 9,54,568 positive cases. Out of the total, 8,955 deaths have occurred. At present, there are a total of 95 active cases undergoing treatment in the state, including 61 in Jaipur.

The Medical and Health Department of Rajasthan is keeping a special vigilance over the COVID-19 spread to ensure that cases do not rise. Orders have been issued to follow COVID-19 guidelines strictly.
