COVID-19 Spread in India: Offline classes have been suspended in a school in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad after three students tested positive for COVID-19. Fresh cases of novel coronavirus have emerged at KR Mangalam World School in Vaishali. This is the second time a school in Ghaziabad has reported COVID-19 spread among students.
Offline Classes Suspended
Taking precautionary steps for other students and staff members, the school management decided to call off offline classes for two days in light of the outbreak of infection. The management also released an official circular to inform the parents and students about their decision. Meanwhile, classes will be conducted in online mode.
“As three positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported in our school, the School Management has decided to suspend the offline classes for the next two days (April 11 and April 12, 2022), we will continue imparting education through online classes, during these days,” the school said.
School has also asked parents to monitor their wards’ health and follow necessary Covid-19 protocols.
“The school is also conducting deep sanitisation of entire campus and buses every day and following all COVID protocols,” the notice read.
Schools for all classes (Nursery to Class 12) reopened in the state on February 17 following order released by the Uttar Pradesh government. Offline classes for Class 9-12 students had already begun on February 7.
The Centre announced the commencement of COVID-19 vaccination for adolescents in the 15-18 age group on January 3, 2022. Vaccine coverage was further extended to children between 12-14 years from March 16 with Biological E's intramuscular Corbevax shot, two doses of which are to be administered 28 days apart.
