ICAI postpones CA examinations scheduled for November 9

CA November 2019 examinations for Foundation course and Final course to be held on November 9, 2019, have been postponed. Read detailed notification below.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed the papers scheduled for today i.e. November 9, 2019. Therefore, the CA examinations for Foundation and Final courses for Paper 1 and Paper 5 respectively will be held on a new date, which ICAI will be announced soon.

The notification released by ICAI states, ‘In view of the reports gathered through electronic media about closure of school and colleges at various parts of the country, ALL EXAMINATIONS of the ICAI namely Foundation Paper 1, Final Paper 5, IRM Paper1, INTT AT, and DISA ET Paper scheduled for Saturday, November 9th 2019, on all India basis and abroad stand postponed to a later date which shall be announced separately.’

The decision to postpone CA examinations was taken after schools and colleges in various parts of the country have been closed. Today, Supreme Court has given the final verdict on ‘Ayodhya Case’, which is a sensitive issue, and therefore, many schools and colleges in various parts of the country decided to remain closed as a precautionary following the verdict.

As per the media reports, the states and cities affected by the decision are Uttar Pradesh, Jammu, and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Delhi. Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradesh, the schools and colleges will remain closed until Monday, November 11, 2019.

However, candidates should note that only the papers that were to be held on November 9, 2019, have been postponed and the schedule for upcoming CA November examinations remains unchanged unless notified so. Check the complete schedule for CA November 2019 examinations here.
