The Bar Council of India (BCI) has published the 'revised' syllabus for AIBE XVII (17) 2022 on August 17. In the hearing held on August 2, the bar council has informed the Supreme Court that "the syllabus will be published within 15 days from today and the examination will be held within a period of about three months thereafter." The exam authority has not published detailed pattern or schedule for AIBE XVII (17) yet.
AIBE XVII is expected to be held in the next three months, tentatively by October or November. A new exam conducting body for AIBE will be finalised within next few days. The last date of recieving tenders from national-level testing agency is August 20.
AIBE Syllabus: Changes
The bar council has published the 'updated syllabus' for AIBE XVII (17), however, there are no new topics added or revision in subject-wise weightage.
The syllabus comprises 19 law subjects as it was for previous sessions.

AIBE XVII Exam Pattern 2022: Expected Changes
As indicated by the exam authority in their notification for AIBE exam conduct tender invitation, the following changes will be made in the exam pattern:
- AIBE pattern to be changed with respect to ' mode of examination', 'number of exam days', 'number of shifts', 'marking scheme' and status of 'reference material' for attempting the exam
- The exam will be held in 22 Vernacular languages i.e. 1) Assamese, (2) Bengali, (3) Gujarati, (4) Hindi, (5) Kannada, (6) Kashmiri (F) Konkani, (8) Malayalam, (9) Manipuri, (10) Marathi, (11) Nepali (12 Oriya, (13) Punjabi, (14) Sanskrit, (15) Sindhi, (16) Tamil, (17) Telugu, 18) Urdu (19) Bodo, (20) Santhali, (21) Maithili and (22) Dogri
Apart from this, 'other profession' candidates will be allowed to take AIBE examination with conditions.
