All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released a warning to institutions about imposters approaching institutions for admission and grant of approval by posing as AICTE senior officials. The council clarified that the AICTE chairman, member secretary or any other official have not made any such request to educational institutions and colleges.
Stakeholders have been advised not to entertain such requests and report the incident to AICTE immediately.
“It is hereby, intimated that no such requests, calls [and] communications are being made by any of the AICTE officials and hence shall not be entertained and any such incident,. be reported to AICTE in the official communication email IDs which are available on AICTE website www.aicte-india.org,” an official statement said.
The AICTE is currently processing applications from various technical institutions for starting technical programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and post-diploma level.
Technical institutions, standalone PGDM and PGCM institutions, and institutes offering open and distance learning, or ODL, courses or online will be granted approval of the courses latest by June 30, 2021. In its revised academic calendar, AICTE had also extended the last date for admission to PGDM or PGCM institutions to August 11, 2021. The AICTE has fixed the last date to grant affiliation by universities to technical institutions till July 15, 2021. Criminal proceedings will be initiated against people found posing as officials, AICTE statement added.
Earlier, AICTE invited applications from students from the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe background for a free training course in the Internet of Things.
