College of Nursing at All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS) Nagpur with Laerdal Medical organized an Advanced Skill Training Workshop for Nursing Officers & students from July 1 to July 3, 2022.

Individualized hands-on training, prompt feedback & thorough debriefing led to a fantastic learning experience for all participants."

 

AIIMS Nagpur to get Genomic Sequencing Lab

AIIMS Nagpur has become the first centrally-run government hospital to have a genomic sequencing laboratory. With AIIMS Nagpur getting the genome sequencing lab, the coronavirus positive patients' samples genome sequencing from Vidarbha and Central India can be done at AIIMS.

Dr Meena Mishra, Professor and Head, of the Department of Microbiology will be the Principal Investigator. She said, “This laboratory will also conduct Capacity Building activities for microbiologists. It is through this hands-on training in collaboration with JHPIEGO-USAID-RISE and with the setup of the sequencing laboratory, AIIMS Nagpur becomes the first Medical Institute to establish the Whole Genomic Sequencing facility in the Vidarbha region. The data of Genome Sequencing generated here will be shared with the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune," as reported by The Hitavada.

AIIMS Nagpur's forensic department to get a state-of-the-art mortuary

The AIIMS forensic department is all set to get a state-of-the-art mortuary once it gets equipment from the Centre and approval from the state government.

AIIMS has built a 15,000 sq ft complex to house a state-of-the-art mortuary. It will have a 90-bodies storage capacity, freezers for 12 corpses, X-Ray and CT scan rooms and AC halls for relatives to wait, as reported by TOI.
