AIIMS RDA, RIMS Medical Students' Union support protesting docs in Rajasthan
Doctors protesting in Rajasthan against the government's bond policy are getting support from various resident doctors' associations including AIIMS RDA and RIMS Medical Students' Union.
The resident doctors in Rajasthan are protesting against the government's plan to implement the bond policy for PG medical students. These doctors are getting support from doctors' associations across the country.
Dr Vikas Kumar President of RIMS Medical Students' Union has tweeted, "Strike is no one's hobby, it is a compulsion. If the doctors of Rajasthan are compelled to do this, then the government should again review its policies. Fully supports the doctor of Jharkhand, Rajasthan."
Junior Doctor's Association (JDA) of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Ranchi has written to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan regarding the bond service of PG medial resident doctors of Rajasthan.
The letter reads, "The 2019-22 batch resident doctors have neither been posted for their service properly as per the bond policy nor have they been issued their degree certificates to avail other secondary options in their career. Even after 5 months of tenure completion the certificates of these doctors are illegally retained as per orders from DME refusing about 600+ doctors their right to employment and livelihood. DME is playing with the lives of our fellow residents. These doctors are forced to do bonded labour from this year without any proper planning for the same."
AIIMS Delhi resident doctors' association has also supported these protesting doctors and strongly condemned the Rajasthan government's decision to implement the bond policy for PG medical students.
