As per the guidelines, all those students who will be arriving on the campus from abroad will have to present their vaccination certificate, without which, they won't be allowed entry.
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will begin the offline classes for the students of all courses on-campus in phases. In wake of going back to offline mode after COVID-19, the varsity has released a set of new guidelines for foreign students. As per the guidelines, all those students who will be arriving on the campus from abroad will have to present their vaccination certificate, without which, they won't be allowed entry.
"The AMU administration has issued an advisory that the foreign students who come to the AMU campus should come only after getting vaccination from their countries and only then will they be given admission, else they would not be allowed to enter," said Deputy Proctor, S Ali Nabaw Zaidi.
Earlier, with the decline in COVID-19 cases, several states including West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Himachal Pradesh, also revoked the restrictions imposed to avoid the spread.
Meanwhile, Education Ministry has reached out to the Aligarh Muslim University and has conveyed that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will not take away the power of the varsity to admit students of its choice as per their existing norms.
AMU had last month written to the Education Ministry raising their concerns over CUET as the case on its minority status is subjudice. Under Article 30 of the constitution, all minorities, whether based on religion or language, have the right to establish and administer educational institutions of their choice. In continuation of that, AMU reserves 50 per cent of seats for students of university recognised schools in various undergraduate courses.
