Andhra Pradesh government has given a go-ahead to schools to reopen for students of 9th and above classes in the state from September 21, 2020. In line with the Unlock 4.0 guidelines and the Standard Operating Procedures released by the Ministry of Health, the Andhra Pradesh Government has issued GO.390 guidelines for the reopening of schools in the state. As per the guidelines released, the skill and entrepreneurship training institutes will be allowed to operate from September 21 in the state.
As per the Unlock 4.0 guidelines, it is not mandatory to reopen the schools. However, schools are now allowed to reopen to hold doubt solving sessions for the students in higher classes on a voluntary basis. According to the state government’s Govt Order 390, “schools in Andhra Pradesh would be reopened (for those students who want to have doubt clearing session) from September 21 but only for classed 9 to 12 i.e. intermediate second year.”
The guidelines released by the state government allows only 50 per cent of teaching and non-teaching staff members to be available on school premises from September 21 onwards to hold doubt solving sessions. Those staff members who live in the containment zones are not allowed to come to school after it reopens. On similar lines, students and teachers are also refrained from visiting containment zones.
Students who want to visit schools, have to provide or carry written consent from their parents for allowing them to visit the schools. Students will be allowed to visit schools on a voluntary basis for doubt clearing sessions.
