Andhra University to launch MTech programme for Navy Technical Officers
Naval education director Captain Edwin Jyothi and Commander P Manorama from the Indian Navy headquarters, New Delhi visited Andhra University on June 23.
AU MTech Admissions 2022: Andhra University is all set to introduce a regular MTech programme for Indian Navy technical officers. The Mtech programme by Andhra University for Navy technical officers will be offered in various areas of engineering.
Navy Officers to attend MTech programme on AU campus
According to TOI, AU officials informed that the officers will study on the campus of Andhra University for two semesters. The balance two semesters will be covered by these officers at naval technical establishments for dissertation work. Andhra University will award the MTech degree to successful candidates upon completion of the course.
Naval education director Captain Edwin Jyothi and Commander P Manorama from the Indian Navy headquarters, New Delhi visited Andhra University on June 23. The officers met the vice-chancellor of the varsity, Professor PVGD Prasad Reddy and academic advisor-defense joint education and research programme, Dr Ujjwal Kumar Ghatak. The meeting took place in order to discuss the implementation of a memorandum of understanding signed for the MTech programmes.
Speaking on this occasion, Captain Edwin commented on the soon-to-be-launched MTech programme at AU. Edwin shared that this is the first time the Indian Navy has decided to send their technical officers to the Andhra University campus to pursue a programme. “While they will spend one year on the AU campus, the officers will be on-job students in their own establishments in the second year. The Navy will also be able to utilise the technical expertise of these personnel,” said Captain Edwin.
