Make India No.1 Country Mission: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal on August 17 launched a national mission to make India the number one country in the world. The minister called all citizens and political parties to join the mission. In order to make India the world’s best Country, the Delhi CM highlighted a few major aspects to prioritize, i.e. providing free education and healthcare to citizens, employment to youths, equal rights and dignity for women and fair prices to farmers for their products are needed to achieve the goal.

There is a need to open government schools on a large scale, improve them, regularise guest teachers and train teachers for children's future. Then India can become a 'rich country', the AAP national convener said.

Talking about the healthcare aspect, the minister added, "India is a family of 130 crore people and if someone falls sick in the family, it is our responsibility to ensure that they get treated. We cannot leave them on their own. We cannot say that you will only get treatment if you have money.”

He also urged the Centre to use the Delhi government's expertise for improving healthcare facilities across India to make it the number one country in the world.

Kejriwal to travel across the country

The Delhi CM informed that as part of the mission 'Make India Number 1', he will travel across the country to encourage people to join the initiative and achieve its objectives. He said the mission is apolitical in nature.

Many countries like Singapore got independence after India but are ahead of us. Why is India lagging behind despite Indians being the 'most intelligent and hard-working in the world," Kejriwal asked.
