Aurangabad district plans to develop smart classes, libraries and other facilities in 175 schools with the prize money it received from NITI Aayog.
Aurangabad district in Bihar, which has got INR 3 crore prize money for ranking second in the field of education in the recent ranking of aspirational districts by NITI Aayog, has decided to utilize the prize money for the development of smart classes, libraries and other facilities in 175 schools of the district.
Aurangabad DM Saurabh Jorwal has said that the district has greatly improved its ranking in the field of education and is now at the second position, as reported by TOI.
"The cash reward will be used to improve education facilities in the district. The district administration has prepared a detailed action plan and sent it to the NITI Aayog for approval," he said.
"Altogether 175 schools located in 350 villages under 132 panchayats of 11 blocks and two municipal councils in the district have been selected for infrastructure development. A total of 49,525 students will be benefited by this. According to this action plan, smart classrooms, computers and other electronics materials will be made available in these schools. Along with this, 35 master trainers will also be deployed for smart labs," he added.
Aurangabad schools to be more student-friendly
The reward amount will also be used to make schools more student-friendly. Attractive paintings will be drawn on the walls in some selected schools to attract the attention of Children, he added.
"Computer systems, internet, smart board, video recording and CCTV will be arranged in all these centres. Their monitoring will be done by the school education committee as well as the block and district officials. Apart from this, arrangements will be made for benches, desks and other facilities in 55 other schools," he added.
