AICTE, NSDC and Bajaj Finserv to introduce Certificate courses in Banking, Finance, and Insurance
The skilling of youth under the partnership is set to commence in 10 districts of Odisha with students receiving joint certification accredited by Bajaj Finserv andSkill India
Under the aegis of the Ministry of Higher Education, AICTE, and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship's NSDC have joined forces with Bajaj Finserv Ltd. to equip young graduates with the necessary skills for employment opportunities within the financial services sector.
AICTE has designated Odisha as a priority state. Consequently, the youth skilling programs will kick off in ten districts of Odisha in the initial phase. These students will receive a joint certification accredited by Bajaj Finserv and Skill India.
Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his delight at the signing of these MoUs between NSDC, AICTE, and Bajaj Finserv, emphasizing their role in preparing young graduates for careers in the financial services sector. He highlighted that these partnerships will significantly enhance competencies within the financial domain, enabling the youth to actively participate in the ongoing transformations in finance and digital realms.
Referring to the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat and the recent launch of the Voice of Youth program, he underscored the crucial role of skill development and the financial sector in the nation's progress. Shri Pradhan emphasized the importance of youth in shaping a knowledge-driven Viksit Bharat, stating India's potential as a hub for global financial services.
Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, expressed his belief that the MoU with Bajaj Finserv will foster new collaborations between education and industry, further strengthening AICTE's vision of bridging the gap between academia and industry. He highlighted the opportunities this collaboration presents in terms of education, internships, and job training in finance, banking, and insurance sectors for students.
Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC, highlighted the significant growth in India's financial sector and NSDC's commitment to empowering youth through diverse skill development initiatives. Partnering with Bajaj Finserv, according to him, signifies a strategic move towards aligning skilling efforts with the industry's evolving needs in the financial sector.
Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman & Managing Director, Bajaj Finserv Ltd., emphasized how the partnership with NSDC and the Ministry of Education will offer young people greater access to skill development, opening doors to countless opportunities for success. He highlighted the potential of this collaboration in fostering economic resilience and building an inclusive workforce in line with the theme of Kaushal Bharat, Kushal Bharat.
This partnership aims to empower 20,000 candidates through Bajaj Finserv's Certificate Program in Banking, Finance & Insurance (CPBFI), a 100-hour program designed in collaboration with industry experts, training partners, educational institutions, and psychological health institutes. Currently operational in 350+ colleges across 23 states, 100 districts, and 160+ towns, this program aims to nurture skills, knowledge, and the right attitude among graduates and MBA aspirants, especially in tier 2 and 3 cities, preparing them for employability and informed decisions in their careers within the financial services sector.
Additionally, the collaboration intends to enhance candidates' confidence through specifically designed communication and workplace skills training. To date, CPBFI has benefited over 40,000 students from tier 2 & tier 3 towns.
