Xavier University, Bhubaneswar, has launched their maiden three-year graduation programmes in Commerce and Management Studies.
According to a report in Business Standard (BS), the School of Commerce, Xavier University, will offer Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), Bachelor of Commerce (Finance), Bachelor of Management Studies (Marketing) and Bachelor of Management Studies (Human Resource).
The programmes will commence from mid-July in the new Xavier University campus in Bhubaneswar. Each course has an intake capacity of 150-160 students.
“The varsity jointly promoted by the Odisha Jesuit Society and Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), is coming up on 35 acres at Kurki industrial estate in Nijigardh village near Pipili. Other programmes in arts and science stream will be opened next year,” said Father Paul Fernandes, vice-chancellor of the university, to BS.
Eligibility of the course is minimum 55% in any discipline at higher secondary level. Candidates will have to appear for a written entrance examination. Meritorious students (scoring 95% and above) may be allotted direct seats. The examination centres are Bhubaneswar, Kolkata and Delhi.
“The course fee for the three year degree course is fixed at Rs 1.75 lakh for first year, Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.25 lakh in second year and third year respectively,” further informed the report.
The varsity has also rolled out research programmes such as Phd and integrated PhD programmes in management. Classes will commence in June.
