Due to a big mistake in the application of Graduation Part-1 of Bihar University, the gender of about 28 thousand students has been changed in the record.

In a shocking case, in the application of Graduation Part-1 of Bihar University, the gender of as many as 28 thousand students has been changed in university records and even these students were reportedly not aware of this development.

As per Bihar University's record, these students are neither male nor female on the university portal. The 'Others' option is filled in their gender section, which is considered an option for transgender people.

According to the information received from the university, 1 lakh 47 thousand applications have been received for graduation part-1. Out of this, 67 thousand 178 people have been given admission. In this, about 28 applicants have been registered in the Transgender category. Now, the university has said that only those student who will get admission will be asked their gender, as reported by Navbharat Times.

Professor TK Dey, UMIS Co-ordinator of Bihar University, said that this mistake happened while filling out the application form. Students are coming and complaining that the cyber cafe people made a mistake in our form and filled the 'other' option in front of gender, as reported by Forbque.com.

90 thousand applications were received for the first merit list, out of which 36010 girls and 25873 boys students were mentioned. The remaining 28 thousand students went to the Others category. Pro. TK Dey said that the students whose application has a gender mistake will be given a chance to rectify it. For this, the opportunity of editing will be given by opening the portal. The portal will be opened for editing after two days.
