According to the data released, officials said that the attendance of students in August was 73 percent, while it was 82 percent in September and 85 percent in October and 91 percent at present.

All government schools in the state should get CBSE affiliation by 2024, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said. It is being said that all the state schools will follow the CBSE curriculum in upcoming years. While conducting a review meeting with the department of education, the Chief Minister said that there must be a playground in every school. He also directed the officials to list the schools without playgrounds, acquire required lands and allot playgrounds to those schools and said there should also be playgrounds in pre-high schools in the coming days.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister was told that students have not faced any significant impact of a novel coronavirus in schools as they have been taking all the precautions laid down by the government against the virus spread. They said the attendance of students in August was 73 percent, while it was 82 percent in September and 85 percent in October and 91 percent at present.

The Chief Minister informed that the objective behind the launch of the Amma Vodi scheme is to increase enrollment of students in schools and one condition imposed is that the children must have a minimum of 75 per cent of attendance to get eligibility for the scheme.

He said the attendance criterion had been exempted due to the COVID situation and directed the officials to link attendance to the Amma Vodi scheme from 2022. The minister further directed that schools must give financial assistance under the Amma Vodi scheme at the beginning of the academic year after taking into account the student's attendance in the previous year.

The officials also received directions to do complete mapping of teachers soon and introduce the policy of subject-wise teachers and also to improve curriculum.
