Bomb Threats continue to disrupt Delhi Schools, 4th incident in a week

Delhi School Bomb Threat: Delhi remains on high alert as multiple schools received bomb threats on Tuesday morning, further fueling anxiety in the city. Around 6 AM, the Indian Public School in South Delhi and a school in Saraswati Vihar in North West Delhi were among those targeted. The threats were communicated via email, prompting immediate evacuation of students and staff.

The police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident, but no suspicious activity has been reported so far. This marks the fourth time in a week that Delhi schools have been targeted by bomb threats.

Pattern of Ongoing Threats to Schools in Delhi

This recent wave of bomb threats began on December 9 when around 40 schools in Delhi received similar emails. Authorities had evacuated students and sent them home, but after a thorough inspection, no explosives were found. On December 13, six more schools were targeted, leading to the suspension of classes for safety. Like the previous incidents, the threats were determined to be hoaxes after police investigations.

The most recent threat came just one day later, on December 3, when several schools, including DPS in RK Puram, received bomb threats. In this case, the threat was traced back to a prank by a student from DPS, and the authorities took appropriate action by counseling the student and alerting the parents.

Growing Concern Amid Political Tension

The frequency of bomb threats to schools, hospitals, airports, and other institutions across Delhi has raised concerns about safety. As the city prepares for elections in the coming months, these threats have become a critical issue for security forces.

Arvind Kejriwal Raises Alarm on the Impact on Students

In light of the repeated threats, Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed grave concern. He stated, "This is the second time this week that Delhi schools have received bomb threats, which is extremely serious and worrying. If this continues, how badly will it affect the children? What will happen to their studies?"

As investigations continue, the Delhi Police are focusing on identifying the individuals behind these disturbances, while the city's schools remain on edge in the face of these ongoing threats.
